what I'll do. Barbie, oh beautiful

A
2004 article
about Barbie and ken's break-up said, "Barbie met
Ken on the set of a TV
commercial in 1961,
according to Mattel, and
they have been
inseparable ever since."
... "It was hinted the
separation may be
partially due to Ken's
reluctance to get
married. This is the vintage
1961 television
commercial they're
talking about. :o) |

| Barbie's Dream House was
produced from 1961-1964,
so judging from the
outfits I would say this
commercial is from 1963.
I saw #987 Orange
Blossom in the closet. I saw a Bubblecut
lounging on the couch
wearing #940 Mood for
Music while listening to
her "Hi-Fi".
Adorable. What
outfits can you pick
out? |

"Barbie daydreams with
you"... Football
player Ken looks like a
bend-leg Ken to me.
That would date it to
1964, but who knows --
The Bubble cut looks
like a 1961 issue.
Most of the fancy
character outfits are in
this commercial.
The best part of the
ad is the Masquerade
fashions! Very
artistic. |
