Here's a minty, colorful, one-owner Allan doll.
Everything about this doll is way above average, but I was so disappointed to find
a spot of missing paint on his hair. You can see it in his head shot. I didn't notice it
until he was under the photography lights. It's just such a
disappointment for a minty doll like this. But everything else about
this doll is wonderful. You don't usually see Allan's original outfit near mint. The beach jacket usually looks faded and
ratty even when it's in good condition because of the material they used,
but this jacket is minty, crisp and colorful and so are his blue shorts. The
sandals are
perfect, strong supple straps and perfect cork. The original
fashion booklet is included as well.
From the original owner, Allan's painted hair is still fresh and rubbery feeling,
not dried out like most dolls this age. He is extremely clean and his make-up is perfect. I may be the first person who's ever
tried to move the legs and bend the waist. His limbs are incredibly
tight. This doll has been in storage for decades. I bet he's had
less handling and less exposure than a lot of the dolls you
see "with box". The original owner she said she didn't play
with Allan because she just wasn't interested in the male dolls.
He was kept for decades in a vinyl Ken case. It's the HTF lavender Ken case
and anyone who's interested in it can contact me,
but I haven't posted it for sale because it's faded.
You can see the fading when you open it and the parts that were covered
with the vinyl lip and handle are darker lavender.
And that is what
protected this little gem. Despite his hair rub, he's still a fabulous doll.
